AION 2 Kina explained

Kina is AION 2's everyday currency: what you earn while playing and what the player Market runs on. Here's what NCSOFT's official Global notices say about it, and how to plan around it.

Kina or Kinah?

NCSOFT's English notices for the Global version spell it Kina, for example in the Business Model team update, the Daeva Pass and product notices, and the October 7, 2026 update notes. One notice (the October 4 warning about illicit currency) writes "Kinah", the spelling many players remember from the original AION. Both mean the same currency. The Korean client calls it 키나 and the Taiwanese client 基納.

How you get Kina

Per NCSOFT's Global business-model update, Kina is "earned through gameplay". Because routes, drops and prices change with patches, we don't publish "best" farming spots. Measure your own rate instead: log timed sessions in the Farming Session Tracker to see your net Kina per hour after potions and other costs.

What Kina is for

Official Global notices describe these uses:

  • The Market. Kina is described as the "currency of the Market". On Global, buying on the Market, personal trades and the Kina ↔ Quna Exchange require an active Special Quai Membership.
  • NPC shops. For example, the October 7, 2026 update notes add new Kina items to the Wind Breeze Merchants.
  • The Kina ↔ Quna Exchange. Players can trade Kina for Quna (the premium currency) with each other through the Exchange.

Bound Kina is not the same as regular Kina

Some Global rewards, such as Daeva Pass rewards and a Twitch Drops bundle, are listed as "Kina (Bound)". NCSOFT hasn't published the bound-Kina rules in English yet. In the Korean and Taiwanese versions, the March 25, 2026 update says bound Kina can't be used for Market purchases, personal trades or Kina boxes, and that it's spent before regular Kina on fees. Until the Global rules are published, don't assume your bound balance can pay for Market purchases.

The Kina Planner lets each goal record which balance you counted ("Funds counted") for exactly this reason.

Avoid buying Kina from third parties

NCSOFT has warned players against buying Kina or Quna from unofficial sellers. These tools don't offer, link to or support real-money trading.

Planning your Kina

Three numbers decide how long a goal takes: your balance, the cost, and your net Kina per hour. The Kina Goal Planner turns them into farming hours, calendar days and a finish date. For enhancements, where failures make the cost a range, price the attempt first with the Upgrade Budget Calculator and save its 90% budget as your goal.

  • Bound Kina: A restricted form of Kina. Global rewards list "Kina (Bound)" items, but the English rules for using it aren't published yet. In Korea and Taiwan, it can't be used on the Market or in trades.
  • Quna: The premium currency, bought with real money. It buys shop items and the premium Daeva Pass, and players trade it for Kina on the Exchange.
