How to Rank Up From E to S (Ascension Explained)

Rank Details lists the six ranks: E Beginner, D Novice, C Fighter, B Warrior, A Elite and S Monarch. You earn XP from quests and achievements, and the main story pays the most: finishing chapters two and three gave me over 2,000 XP. D rank starts at 5,000 XP and C at 15,000, and each rank takes more XP than the one before.

XP is the only requirement, but ranking up isn't automatic. You tap Ascend yourself, and ascending to D pays a bonus of 200 XP and 100 gold. You can share a rank-up card, which shows the milestone and never your balances. Ranks also unlock cosmetic items in the Hunter Shop. Your streak counts the days in a row you log something, and it adds 5% more XP at 3 days, growing to 25% at 30 days. Miss a day, and the streak resets and you lose a little gold.

In this video you'll see how ranks work, and how to rank up from E all the way to S. On Home, tap your rank badge.

This is Rank Details. I'm Beginner five, the top tier of rank E, with 5,545 XP.

0:18 The six ranks, E to S

There are six ranks: E, Beginner. D, Novice. C, Fighter. B, Warrior. A, Elite. And S, Monarch.

0:31 How to earn XP

You earn XP from quests and achievements. The main story gives the most. I just finished chapters two and three, which gave me over 2,000 XP.

0:42 How to rank up (Ascend)

Scroll down to Next rank. D rank starts at 5,000 XP, so I've cleared the requirement.

XP is the only requirement, but ranking up isn't automatic. Ascending also pays a bonus: 200 XP and 100 gold. Tap Ascend to rank D.

You can share a rank-up card. It only shows the milestone, never your balances. Tap Not now.

1:12 Rank tiers and the next rank

Scroll back up. I'm now D one, Novice. Every rank has five tiers, from one to five, as you earn more XP.

C rank, Fighter, starts at 15,000 XP. Each rank takes more XP than the one before.

1:30 Rank perks and shop unlocks

Scroll down to the perks. Ranks unlock cosmetic items in the Hunter Shop. At D, the aura borders open up, and higher ranks unlock new themes. The next ascension pays 500 XP.

1:44 Streaks and the XP multiplier

Below that is the XP streak multiplier. Your streak counts the days in a row you log something, like an expense, income, or a bill payment. Mine is back to one day, because I missed a day.

At 3 days you earn 5% more XP, and it grows to 25% at 30 days. Miss a day, and the streak resets and you lose a little gold.

That's how ranks work: earn XP, then ascend when you reach the next rank. Next, we'll look at achievements and titles. Links to download Hunter Vault are in the description.
