How to Track Debts and Pay Them Off Faster

I add a $3,000 car loan as a general loan due on the 5th, with 24 installments at 6% interest and a $133 monthly payment. Your total debt and debt-free date update right away. Pay Debt fills in the monthly payment from your bank account, and the Battle Log lists every payment on that debt.

View Plan opens the War Plan. Avalanche pays the highest-interest debt first, so you pay the least interest; snowball clears the smallest debt first, for quick wins. Drag the slider to add extra each month: in my example, $100 more gets me debt-free 9 months sooner. The free plan tracks up to 3 debts.

Paid features shown: none. Recorded on a Premium account. The free plan includes up to 3 debts. Features and pricing can change; check the app for current details.

First, how much you owe right now. My car loan has $3,000 left. Tap Continue.

Now the plan. Turn on Track installments to add the details. Mine is 24 payments, at 6% interest.

Enter the monthly payment, $133, then tap Create debt.

The car loan is on the list. The total and the debt-free date update right away.

Go back and tap View Plan. Avalanche pays the highest interest first, so you pay the least interest. Snowball clears the smallest debt first, for quick wins.

Drag the slider to add a little extra each month. With $100 more, I'd be debt-free 9 months sooner and save on interest.

On the free plan you can track up to 3 debts. Next in Plan Your Money, we'll read your spending reports. Links to download Hunter Vault are in the description.
