Every pull in these four games costs 160 of the pull currency, and paid currency converts 1:1. So a 90-pull pity is 14,400 Stellar Jade, Primogems or Polychromes. At US prices, the cheapest mix of top-up packs for that is $183.93 at repeat prices, or $114.98 if the first-purchase bonuses on the $14.99 and $99.99 packs are unused. The worst case for one limited character, 180 pulls, costs $360.89 at repeat prices. In Wuthering Waves the worst case is 160 pulls, or $319.91.
Most players never get near the worst case. In our model of a 90-pull banner, about two in three 5-stars land between pull 74 and pull 90, and you win the 50/50 about half the time. The calculator turns that into three numbers you can plan with: the pulls for an even chance, the pulls for a 90% chance, and the worst case.
| Game and banner | Base rate | Official average | Hard pity | Your target per 5-star | Worst case, 1 copy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Honkai: Star Rail Character Event Warp | 0.6% | 1.60% | 90 | 56.3% | 180 pulls |
| Honkai: Star Rail Light Cone Event Warp | 0.8% | 1.87% | 80 | 78.1% | 160 pulls |
| Genshin Impact Character Event Wish | 0.6% | 1.60% | 90 | 55% | 180 pulls |
| Genshin Impact Weapon Event Wish (Epitomized Path) | 0.7% | 1.85% | 80 | 37.5% | 160 pulls |
| Zenless Zone Zero Exclusive Channel | 0.6% | 1.60% | 90 | 50% | 180 pulls |
| Zenless Zone Zero W-Engine Channel | 1% | 2% | 80 | 75% | 160 pulls |
| Wuthering Waves Featured Resonator Convene | 0.8% | 1.80% | 80 | 50% | 160 pulls |
| Wuthering Waves Featured Weapon Convene | 0.8% | 1.80% | 80 | 100% | 80 pulls |
"Your target per 5-star" is the chance a 5-star is the one you want when you aren't guaranteed. Checked October 24, 2026.
Publishers give three numbers for each banner: a base rate, a hard pity and an average rate that includes the guarantee. A flat base rate with only a hard pity would average less than the published figure. HoYoverse's 0.6% base with a 90-pull guarantee would average about 1.43%, not 1.6%. So the odds must rise before the hard pity, which players call soft pity.
We model that rise as a straight ramp that starts where community data puts it, around pull 74 on 90-pull banners and pull 63 on 80-pull banners. Then we solve for the slope that makes the average match the official rate exactly. From there it's exact probability, with no simulation, so the same inputs always give the same answer.
Every rule comes from the publisher's own banner details, and every price comes from an official store listing. Two kinds of number are labelled community: where soft pity starts, and the 160-per-pull shop price, which is in-game only. Kuro's web notices confirm the carryover and the guaranteed featured weapon. The 0.8% base rate, 1.8% average and 80-pull guarantee are the in-game Convene details, via a third-party transcription. Official store listings for Zenless Zone Zero mention only the first-purchase double bonus. The repeat bonuses (30 to 1,600) come from the community wiki.
In Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, the worst case for one limited character is 180 pulls: 90 to the guaranteed 5-star, and 90 more if that one isn't the featured character. In Wuthering Waves it's 160, from an 80-pull guarantee. Pulls since your last 5-star count toward it, and if you lost your last 50/50, your next 5-star is the featured one.
A 90-pull pity is 14,400 Stellar Jade, Primogems or Polychromes at 160 per pull. At US prices, the cheapest mix of top-up packs is $183.93 at repeat prices, or $114.98 if your first-purchase bonuses on the $14.99 and $99.99 packs are unused. The 180-pull worst case costs $360.89 at repeat prices. That's before any free currency you've saved.
Soft pity is a player term for the odds rising before the hard pity. Publishers don't publish it, but their own averages imply it: a flat 0.6% chance with a 90-pull guarantee would average about 1.43%, below the 1.6% HoYoverse publishes. This calculator starts the rise where community data puts it and solves for the slope that reproduces each banner's official average.
Not in every game. Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves use a straight 50%. In Genshin Impact, HoYoverse says Capturing Radiance lifts the consolidated chance to 55%. In Honkai: Star Rail, the losing half is split among all obtainable 5-stars, featured included, which works out to about 56% and matches the official 1.113% featured rate.
Yes. In all four games, the official rules say your pity count carries over to the next banner of the same type, and the official wording doesn't tie a lost-50/50 guarantee to a single banner either. The exception is Genshin's Epitomized Path: Fate Points reset when the weapon banner ends.
It doubles each pack once. The $99.99 pack gives 12,960 instead of 8,080, which cuts the price per pull from about $1.98 to $1.23. Bonuses come back only when a publisher announces a reset, so if you're going to buy anyway, buy the packs whose bonus you still have.
Pulls are random. The calculator can tell you the worst case, but it can't make the next 50/50 go your way. Decide on your number before the banner opens, and stop when you reach it. If chasing a pull ever stops feeling like a choice, free, confidential help is available through BeGambleAware or a local helpline.
