A Shared Vault is a separate vault where your partner, family or housemates track shared accounts, budgets and bills together. Up to 6 people see the same numbers, and every entry shows who added it. Your Personal vault, XP and rank stay private.
Rent, groceries, utilities, the family emergency fund. The things everyone pays into get one place, and everyone can see them.
Accounts, expenses, income, budgets, bills, savings goals and debts in the vault are the same for every member, and so are the reports.
Choose what each person can do when you invite them. You can change a role later from Members & settings.
Every entry carries the name of the person who added it, and edits show who made them.
Send an invite through Messages, WhatsApp or anything else. No email address needed.
Entries reach the other members' phones, usually within about 30 seconds. Changes made offline wait and sync when you reconnect.
A Shared Vault is a separate space. Nothing in your Personal vault is shared, and your Hunter's progress belongs to you.
Most couples and families don't want to merge everything. A Shared Vault holds only what you decide to share, like the joint account, the household bills and the savings goal you're all building toward. Your Personal vault keeps working exactly as it does now, and it stays private.
Invites are links, so you can send them anywhere you already talk. Make your partner an admin, add a housemate as a member, or add a parent as a viewer who just wants to see how things are going. Admins can invite members and viewers, and you can change anyone's role later.
When one person logs the groceries from the shared account, the balance drops on everyone's phone, with their name on the entry. Nobody has to ask "did you already pay the electric bill?" because the answer is in the vault. Members and admins can edit any entry, so invite people you trust. "Edited by" shows who changed what.
It takes a few minutes, and your Personal vault isn't touched at any point.
Open the vault switcher on Home, or go to Profile → Shared Vaults, and tap Create Shared Vault. If you don't have a Shared Vault plan yet, you'll subscribe first. Then name the vault, pick Family, Couple or Household, choose a home currency, and enter the name members will see on your entries.
Open Members & settings, tap Invite, choose a role, and share the link. Each link works once and expires after 7 days, so make one for each person.
The link opens Hunter Vault on the Join screen. They sign in, enter their name for the vault and tap Join Shared Vault. If they don't have the app yet, the invite page links to the download, and the invite opens again once they've installed the app and signed in.
The chip at the top of Home shows which vault you're in. Add Expense and Quick Log also show Logging to with the vault's name, so a personal coffee doesn't end up in the family budget by accident.
Shared money, separate progress. Your Hunter's XP, rank and gold are personal, so budgeting with someone else never puts your progress at their mercy.
Logging in a Shared Vault earns XP for the person who logged the entry.
Gold penalties and total-based checks read only your Personal vault.
They look the same in every vault you switch to.
Shared Vault is new, and some things work differently from your Personal vault. Here's what to expect before you invite anyone.
There are no group balances. For one-off splits with friends, use bill splitting when you log an expense.
So do the home-screen widget, reminders, and backup and export.
Entries sync to everyone; attached receipts don't yet.
You can't move existing Personal entries into it.
"Edited by" shows who changed it.
Members join on iPhone or Android and sign in. There is no web version.
Budgeting on your own never requires a subscription. A Shared Vault does, but only for the person who creates it. The current price is shown in the app, because it varies by store and region.
One Shared Vault plan, billed through the App Store or Google Play, covers everyone in the vault. It renews automatically until you cancel.
Up to 5 people join with a link and pay nothing.
The vault becomes view-only until the owner subscribes again.
Account, budget and goal limits from the free plan don't apply in a Shared Vault.
Hunter Elite removes the free-tier limits in your Personal vault, and Hunter Vault Cloud backs it up. Neither includes a Shared Vault; the Shared Vault plan is what lets you create and own one.
Shared entries are stored on Hunter Vault's servers so they can reach every member, and only members of that vault can read them. Roles are enforced on the server as well as in the app. Your Personal vault isn't uploaded by a Shared Vault. To back it up, use Hunter Vault Cloud. To split a single bill with friends instead, see how bill splitting compares with Splitwise.
A Shared Vault is a separate vault in Hunter Vault for money you manage with other people, like a family, a couple or a household. Its accounts, expenses, income, budgets, bills, savings goals and debts are the same for every member, and every entry shows who added it. It sits next to your Personal vault, and you switch between them from Home.
Up to 6 people, including you. You invite up to 5 others with a link and give each one a role: admins add, edit and manage members, members add and edit, and viewers can see everything but change nothing.
No. The owner needs a Shared Vault subscription, and one plan covers everyone in the vault. The people you invite join free, but they need the Hunter Vault app on iPhone or Android and must sign in to join.
No. Only what's in the Shared Vault is shared. Your Personal vault, XP, rank and quests stay private to you, and logging in a Shared Vault never moves anything out of your Personal vault.
The Shared Vault stays, but it becomes view-only for everyone until the owner subscribes again. Nothing is deleted. Ownership can also be transferred to another member, as long as the new owner has a Shared Vault plan.
Not in the same way. A Shared Vault gives a household one shared budget, but it doesn't keep a running balance of who owes whom or settle people up. To split a single expense with friends, use bill splitting when you log it: your share counts as your spending, and each friend's share is tracked as money they owe you.
Yes. Logging in a Shared Vault earns XP for whoever logged the entry. Checks that look at totals, and gold penalties, read only your Personal vault, so a partner's overspending never costs you gold. Your rank, quests and shop are the same in every vault.
Not yet. Huntee, the home-screen widget, reminders and backup and export all work in your Personal vault. While a Shared Vault is open, Huntee offers to switch you back to Personal.
Update Hunter Vault on iPhone or Android, create a Shared Vault, and invite your party. The people you invite join free.
