Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 6, 2026
Overview
Hunter Vault ("we", "our", or "the app") is a gamified personal finance tracker developed by Tiny Entry. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and which third parties may receive it.
The short version: By default, your financial data stays on your device in encrypted local storage and nothing is sent off-device. Optional features — the Huntee AI coach, Smart Import, and the Weekly Hunter Board leaderboard — send specific data to named third parties when you choose to use them. All optional features are off by default; you can use the full app without ever enabling them.
Core Data Storage (Default Behavior)
All financial data you enter into Hunter Vault — accounts, expenses, income, debts, goals, and budgets — is stored locally on your device using encrypted IndexedDB storage.
- Your financial data stays on your device unless you enable an optional online feature.
- No account or sign-up is required to use the core app.
- No bank account connections; we never ask for banking credentials or account numbers.
- No advertising is served in the app.
- Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data from your device.
Optional Online Features
The features below are disabled by default. Enabling any of them sends specific data off your device to the third parties named. You can continue using the full core app without enabling any of these.
Huntee — AI Money Coach
When you ask Huntee a question, the app sends your relevant financial context — including budgets, spending summaries, debts, and goals — to the Google Gemini API to generate a response. Huntee reads your data to answer your question; it never modifies your data. The data sent is limited to what is necessary to answer the specific query.
Smart Import
Smart Import lets you upload a bank statement screenshot, PDF, or CSV. The contents of that file are sent to the Google Gemini API, which parses the transactions and returns them for you to review and confirm before anything is saved. We do not store the uploaded file on our servers.
Weekly Hunter Board (Opt-In Leaderboard)
If you join the Weekly Hunter Board, the app sends your quest completions, streaks, and achievement data to our backend to calculate your leaderboard ranking. Financial amounts and balances are never sent to or displayed on the leaderboard. You can leave the leaderboard at any time from the app settings.
Account & Authentication
Creating an account is optional and required only for features that sync data across devices (Hunter Vault Cloud). When you sign up, your email address — or your name and email from Google or Apple if you use OAuth sign-in — is processed by Supabase, our authentication provider. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
Analytics
The app uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect aggregate usage data, such as which features are used and how often sessions occur. This data is used to improve the app and does not include financial data. Firebase may associate analytics events with your device identifier. You can review Firebase's data practices at Google's Privacy & Terms site.
Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
Hunter Vault offers optional subscriptions — Hunter Pass Monthly, Hunter Pass Yearly, and Hunter Vault Cloud — purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payments are processed entirely by Apple or Google; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and purchase receipt data from the store to determine which features you have access to. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com.
Third-Party Subprocessors
The following companies may receive data when you use the features described above:
- Google (Gemini API) — AI processing for Huntee and Smart Import. Data sent: financial context or uploaded statement contents, depending on the feature used.
- Google (Firebase) — In-app analytics. Data sent: aggregate usage events and device identifiers.
- Supabase — Account authentication. Data sent: email address and OAuth identity token when you create an account or sign in.
- RevenueCat — Subscription management. Data sent: app user ID and App Store / Google Play purchase receipt.
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not work with advertising networks or data brokers.
App Permissions
Hunter Vault requests only the minimum permissions necessary for the features you use. The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone, or location. Camera or photo library access is requested only when you use Smart Import to upload a bank statement image, and only with your explicit confirmation.
Data Retention & Deletion
Local data: Stored on your device. Delete it anytime by clearing the app's data in your device settings or uninstalling the app.
Account data (Supabase): If you created an account, your authentication record is retained until you request deletion. To delete your account and associated server-side data, email us at support@huntervault.app with the subject line "Delete My Account." We will process your request within 30 days.
Leaderboard data (Weekly Hunter Board): Quest and achievement data sent to our backend is retained for the duration of the current leaderboard season. Leaving the leaderboard from the app settings removes your data from future rankings. To request early deletion of all leaderboard data, email support@huntervault.app.
AI feature data (Google Gemini): Data sent to the Gemini API for Huntee responses or Smart Import parsing is subject to Google's data retention policies. We do not store copies of queries or uploaded documents on our own servers.
International Data Transfers
If you are located outside the United States, be aware that Google (Gemini API, Firebase), Supabase, and RevenueCat are based in or operate infrastructure in the United States and other countries. By using optional online features or creating an account, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Children's Privacy
Hunter Vault is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support@huntervault.app and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or data practices change. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and, where required by applicable law, notify you through the app or by email. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
